Biotope by artist and composer Jean-Luc Hervé invites the visitor to enter a place transformed by the sound environment: the treille's Garden becomes the cradle of polyphony. The public interrupts a dialogue among a population of small, invisible "sound animals hidden within the garden.

The musical system is fearful: it reacts to human presence in the same way as living organisms which panic or remain silent if visitors are too intrusive, numerous, or noisy, singing again only when calm has returned.

Through the organic nature of the system, the artist encourages the visitor to modify their behavior towards the environment. Through listening, the visitor’s attention is refocused on what surrounds us.
