David Lescot

  • Director

David Lescot's writing and stage work seek to blend non-dramatic forms—particularly music—with theatre. His plays include Un Homme en faillite (2007), L'Européenne (2008), and La Commission centrale de l'Enfance (2008). This last show—a spoken, sung, and chanted account of the holiday camps created by Communist Jews in France—was performed alone accompanied by a 1964 Czechoslovakian electric guitar, toured France and abroad for five seasons and won the Molière for theatrical revelation in 2009.

David Lescot is an associate artist at the Théâtre de la Ville. His plays are published by Actes Sud-Papiers. In 2011, he published three plays: Les Jeunes, followed by On refait tout and Réfection.
