Created by Pierre Boulez in 1976, the Ensemble Intercontemporain brings together 31 soloists who share a passion for music from the 20th century to the present day.
Under the musical direction of Matthias Pintscher, they participate in the missions of dissemination, transmission and creation set out in the statutes of the Ensemble.
In residence at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Ensemble performs in France and abroad where it is invited by major international festivals.
Funded by the Ministry of Culture, the Ensemble also receives support from the City of Paris and the Meyer Foundation for its creative projects.
