Marco Momi

  • Composer

Although Italian by birth, Marco Momi is above all a European in terms of his musical thought: passionate about composition after his time in the class of F. Cifariello Ciardi, his stay in Darmstadt was decisive, as were his years of study in The Hague (Netherlands) or at in the IRCAM Cursus program with Y. Maresz.

"There are attitudes you can breathe in Marco Momi's music: rejection, deprivation, obsessive tests. The ‘embodied’ nature of his research precludes any intellectualization or conceptual drift whatsoever. In this sense, the sound rendered is a pre-eminent and unavoidable plan of investigation; the ‘discovered’ sounds are then to be heard as beginning actors evolving in a space without nets."
