A trained soprano, Marta Gentilucci first completed a Master's Degree in English and German literature, then studied composition at the Florence Conservatory, studies which she completed in Stuttgart with Marco Stroppa and in Vienna with Chaya Czernowin. From 2009 to 2011, she participated in the IRCAM Cursus program. She holds a Doctorate in composition from Harvard University, under the supervision of Chaya Czernowin and Hans Tutschku.
Recently, she has received commissions for creations with electronics from the Akademie der Künste Berlin (ADK) and the Expermentalstudio SWR Freiburg. In 2017, she was in artistic research residency at IRCAM with a research project on the vibrato and tremolo of the female singing
voice.
