Stefano Gervasoni's production is marked by a delicate expression, evolving in a rich and refined world of sound. The transparency of his writing is veiled by barely perceptible processes, which alter the sound image from within. He calls upon a wide compositional palette: modal structures, sound elements, playing styles...
Frequently resorting to reference, he evokes associative reminiscences that escape the logic of composition: allusions to jazz (Godspell, 2002), Frescobaldi (Six Letters on Darkness, 2005-06), Fado (Com que voz, 2008), music, be they contemporary or not (Limbus-Limbo, 2012), to the point of creating a language that transfigures all sources of inspiration and aims at the pure expression of emotional states.
He teaches at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris.
