Le monde d’Éliane Radigue : Les Îles résonnantes

  • Meeting

Pioneer of electronic music, explorer of the interior of sound, Éliane Radigue is a leading figure in downtown New York’s experimental scene alongside La Monte Young, Alvin Lucier, and James Tenney. She embodies the spirit of analog music, painstakingly elaborated in her studio, the editing of the magnetic tape and the mythical ARP synthesizer, the concentration and focus of listening.

For the past fifteen years or so, Éliane Radigue has devoted herself to a series of acoustic works extending the gesture of her electronic compositions. This event, imagined with the Musée national d'art moderne and in the presence of the composer, will be an opportunity to explore these two different facets of her work.

Les Îles résonnantes offers an intimate look at the music of Éliane Radigue. The film explores the sensory singularity of her compositions, proposing soundscapes using the means of cinema. The screening is followed by a conversation with Éliane Radigue.
